Water based urethane over oil based urethane?

How do I apply this new water based urethane over what I have been using for years?

I don't recommend applying a water based urethane over an oil base urethane. It is best to stick with the oil base. If you must use the water base urethane then a light sanding is needed to help with adhesion. You should also use a liquid sander/deglosser to help the new finish stick.
