Painting lines on a new popcorn like wall?

by Gregory Kozlowski

I have a home that was built in 2006 and now days they are using the popcorn style wall, that is what I call it. I just recently painted my newest daughter's room pink with brown horizontal lines. With this style of wall even using tape I still had the paint mix and match in the deeper spots on the wall. Is there a way to paint on this surface without getting that look and get a nice crisp straight line?

Well you could scrape the wall down and then sand it to get a smooth finish but other then that no. The roughness of the wall will keep being a factor to you here. Good Luck

Try Frog Tape. This is a bit different than other types of masking tape.
