Lighten the gel stain on a fiberglass door.

I have a fiberglass door I stained with Gel stain. I would like it to be lighter than it is, but am not sure if there is anything I can do to lighten it, any ideas? Does anyone know if you can lighten the gel stain on a fiberglass door? Topcoats have not been applied yet.

The gel stain will have to be removed, then a lighter stain color applied. Removal of the existing stain will be a little tough. Try using lacquer thinner to soften the stain then wipe it off with clean rags. You might have to use an old tooth brush for difficult areas.
