Ask a Question Is there an easy way to remove seized masking tape from trim?by AnonymousI used blue tape to mask off the trim before painting, now the tape is stuck to the trim, at the edge that meets the wall, any easy way to get the seized masking tape off? AnswersAnswered by Karl Crowder, Crowder Painting from Colorado Springs, Colorado Seized masking tape is a common problem. This usually happens when the masking tape is left attached for too long or is in direct sunlight. Unfortunately tape, including the blue painters tape, can be difficult to remove in these situations.
Answered by Mel When that happened to us, we ended up using a box cutter and applying just a little pressure, we cut the tape from the dried paint and it came right off...don't try ripping the tape off or the paint will come right off with it...huge pain! You're supposed to take the tape off before the paint dries, but when you are putting on 3 layers of paint, who has the time to do all of that in one afternoon....Grrr |
